Inverted metallurgical microscope, predominately used as a high power optical research tool for materials analysis. With WPK 10x eyepieces and six Plan objectives (2x, 5x, 10x, 20x, 50x and 100x). Equipped with a tungsten halogen filament light source and optional high pressure xenon lamp. Includes integral macro-unit with additional ring light. Methods of analysis include bright field, dark field, polarised (with compensator modules) and differential interference contrast imaging. Fitted with separate plate, 35mm and digital cameras. Ideally used in the study of macro and micro-structural features of ceramics, fine powers and metallic specimens. Digital image acquisition via QCapture software.
